All teachers submit lesson plans once a fortnight. Lesson plans are a result of collaborative planning by teachers handling the same subjects. Lesson plans show the units taught in the form of a mind map, followed by a period-wise break-up.

The school has two well-equipped libraries with a large stock of reference books, encyclopedia and other educational magazines. New books are added every year as per teachers’ requirements. A broadband Internet connection ensures easy access for web-based reference.

Goal setting for teachers is by ensuring a comprehensive syllabus planning at the beginning of the year. Teachers are asked to scrutinize each other’s classes and learn both for self-development and for feedback. Bench marking by the student himself/herself ensures goal setting for students.

The teachers plan inter-house activities at the beginning of the academic year.

Essential Online Course

Intel is offering a workshop for teachers of VNS that provides them with the skills to effectively integrate computer technology to improve student learning. This workshop will go on till the end of February, 2008. The course focuses on hands-on learning and higher order thinking and encourages teachers to use the internet to collaborate with their colleagues to improve their teaching skills.
